We think we know what's bad and what's good....but do we really?

Acts 16:16-34 This reading for this coming Sunday seems to be about "doing good" creating "bad" and a "bad situation" being "good." The slave girl has her way of making money, seen by the disciples as wrong, taken from her. Paul and Silas see what they did as helping her. Her owners see it as interfering and taking away their livelyhood. Paul and Silas end up in jail. And then, just when it seems the song is right, "No good deed goes unpunished," God intercedes. Paul and Silas are freed from prison. In fact, all the prisoners have a chance to be free...and they don't leave! And, as if that wasn't enough, the prison guard and his whole family come to believe! When in your life has something that initially seemed bad, or even been bad, ended up having a component of "good" in it? When in your life have you thought all hope was gone, only to have God show up in a way you never could have imagined?

I enjoy reading the report, too. It′s easy to understand that a journey like this is the biggest event in ones
life.
